An au pair is somebody aged between 18 and 26 years old. He or she should be able to speak and understand the English language. Have the single status and don’t have children.
If you have the necessary qualifications, graduated within a medical background, experience in nursing and child nursing, especially babies and invalid children: that will be a plus.
The major responsibility of an au pair is taking full care of the children and it is therefore important that the au pair loves children. "Full care" means that the au pair will enjoy the time with the children from the moment that the children will wake up in the morning until the moment the parents are coming home. You will guide the children in the daily routine.
Light household chores:
Wake up, wash and dress the children
Prepare meals during the day for the children
Take the children to school and pick them up
accompany the children to activities and sports after school
Pocket money:
Minimum to maximum 300 to 500 Euros a month. Irrespective of 30 hours working week.
Working hours:
Maximum 30 hours a week spread over 5 days with a maximum of 8 hours a day. Maximum evening babysitting activities per week is 3.
Contract period:
The contract period with a host family is a minimum of 6 continuous months and maximum of 12 continuous months. After the end of the contract period the Au Pair will be returning to their own country. The Host family will bring the au pair to the airport.
Time off:
1 day a week, and once a month a full weekend: Saturday and Sunday.
Holidays:
The au pair has the right to a 2 week paid holiday per 12 months.
Guidance in the Netherlands:
Once you arrive in the Netherlands within two weeks you will be introduced to one of the Representatives of Wecare AuPair. The representative will help mediate any problems that arise during the year. If you do have a problem, you can always contact your Representative from Wecare AuPair and schedule a meeting to try and resolve the problem.
Rematching:
If the problem can’t be resolved, rematching process may begin. To relocate you with another host family in the Netherlands.
